• Daily Tournaments: A new tournament will be held each day of the Jingle Bell Jam. First Round of all brackets begin at 1:00 pm. Second Round (Wildcard/Late Entry) begins at approximately 2:30 pm.

• Open to All Ages: Players of all ages are welcome.

• Entry Fee: A $20 entry fee is required to participate.

Single Elimination Bracket Format with Wildcard Entry System:

In our tournament, we are excited to offer a unique Wildcard Entry System, designed to accommodate late entries and add an element of surprise and inclusivity to our event. Here’s how it works:

Initial Entrant Pool and Wildcard Slots:

• The tournament begins with an initial pool of entrants.

• We reserve wildcard slots equal to half the number of initial entrants. For example, if we have 16 initial players, there will be 8 wildcard slots available.

Tournament Structure:

• First Round (Initial Entrants Only):

• The tournament commences with matches involving only the initial entrants.

• Winners of these matches advance to the next round.

• Second Round (Integration of Wildcards and Additional Match Pairings):

• In the second round, each winner from the first round is ideally paired against a wildcard entrant. This pairing is done randomly or based on a predetermined criterion.

• In the event that the number of wildcard entrants is less than the number of reserved slots, some first-round winners will instead be paired against each other. These pairings will also be determined either randomly or based on a predefined method.

• The objective is to ensure all first-round winners have a match in the second round, whether it is against a wildcard entrant or another initial round winner.

• Consequently, the number of matches in this round will be dynamically adjusted based on the total number of second-round participants (initial winners and wildcard entrants).

• Subsequent Rounds:

• Winners from the second round (comprising both initial entrants and successful wildcards) advance to the next rounds.

• The tournament continues in a standard single-elimination format until a champion is crowned.

Wildcard Entrant Integration:

• Wildcard entrants are integrated into the tournament starting from the second round.

• They are assigned to face the winners of the first-round matches.

• This ensures that all initial participants get to compete in at least one round before the introduction of wildcard entrants.

Registration and Entry Deadline:

• Initial entrants must register by [specific date and time].

• Wildcard entrants can register up until [specific time], which is shortly before the commencement of the second round.

Communication:

• All participants will be informed of their match schedules and opponents as soon as they are determined.

• It is the responsibility of participants to be aware of their match timings and any updates.

This Wildcard Entry System is designed to keep our tournament dynamic, inclusive, and exciting. It allows for a larger pool of participants and ensures that new entrants have an opportunity to compete while maintaining fairness for those who registered initially.
